Project Description

Donna Mae’s Bon-Bons

I have made these cookies so many times, I couldn’t count them all. They are a great crowd pleaser and so cute to look at. This is one of the recipes from my mother’s recipe box. I know you will love them.

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1½ cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 well-beaten egg
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • ½ tsp. almond extract

Combine:

2½ cups white flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cream of tartar

Walnut halves

Cream butter, sugar, then beat in eggs and extracts. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Chill one hour. Form into small balls and place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Flatten slightly and center with an unbroken walnut half. Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes.
